Classroom Placement Feedback May 8-19, 2017

The staff of CES value the importance of building trusting relationships with students and feel it is a critical component of transitioning smoothly from one year to the next. Historically, class lists have been posted in the days preceding the new school year. However, we know that facing the summer months without knowledge of teacher or class placement can be difficult. For the 2017-2018 year, on a trial basis, we will release your child’s placement before the end of June. This new procedure will be reviewed in the fall and the impact assessed to determine if it would continue in subsequent years. We anticipate students will benefit from having the opportunity to get to know their new teachers prior to the end of the school year and this will ease the transition next fall.
We will attempt to develop class lists by mid-June. For the vast majority of our students, this process works very well and there is no need for parents to submit specific placement requests. Accordingly, this form should only be submitted if there is significant additional or new information about your child that you would like to bring to our attention for consideration. Parent requests will be received at the office from May 8th -19th.
Forms will be sent home with students, or are available in the office.
